Welcoming Speech
The 23rd International Postgraduate Research Colloquium (IPRC 2026)
On behalf of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Mercu Buana, Jakarta, it is my great honor and pleasure to warmly welcome all distinguished scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students to The 23rd International Postgraduate Research Colloquium (IPRC 2026).
This year, we gather under the theme “Human Development, Sustainability, and Artificial Intelligence: Fostering Harmony between Humans, Nature, and Technology.” This theme has a sense of urgency, especially today. The world is witnessing rapid changes in technology, especially artificial intelligence, as well as the deterioration of the environment, rise of inequity, and the evolution of human values. These changes impact the way we think and work, and the type of interdisciplinary collaborations we pursue to ensure that progress is measured with humanity and ecology at the center of all.
As a platform for postgraduate research, IPRC 2026 aims to facilitate meaningful academic exchange and critical dialogue. We believe that knowledge should not only advance scientific understanding but also contribute to addressing real-world challenges. In this regard, the integration of psychological insights into discussions of sustainability and technology becomes increasingly vital. Human behavior, cognition, and values are at the heart of how we design, adopt, and regulate technological innovations, as well as how we respond to environmental and societal changes.
This colloquium is designed for both new researchers and seasoned academics to present their work and ideas, and to establish multidisciplinary and cross-cultural collaborative networks. This is visioned to present new and creative ways to establish and build the much needed and time relevant balance and relationship between humans, nature and technology.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all prospective participants, keynote speakers, reviewers, editors and members of the organizing committee for their commitment and ongoing efforts in preparing this event. Your contributions and collaboration are essential in shaping a meaningful and impactful academic forum.
